PVA's Committees Need You!

Over the years, PVA's members have made significant contributions of time and expertise to the development of programs and tools for member use. Their input has resulted in crew training programs, security initiatives, risk management guidelines, legislative and advocacy programs, regulatory proposals and much more.

PVA committee members continue to undertake the important work that supports the industry at-large, and seek the help and involvement of PVA's members in this effort. The following is a list of PVA committees, information about their missions, tentative meeting schedules and PVA staff contacts.

PVA Safety and Security Committee:

Leads and supports PVA members in continuously improving safety, security, and environmental stewardship. The Committee meets via virtual meeting on the third Thursday of each month and once during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends. PVA Regulatory Committee:

Represents and promotes the interests of the passenger vessel industry before the Executive Branch and appropriate federal agencies. Advocates for regulatory policies that benefit the business health and the operations of the passenger vessel industry. Advocates for better coordination of regulations between agencies that will result in less regulatory burden upon passenger vessel operators. The Committee meets via virtual meeting on the third Tuesday every other month and once during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends. PVA Legislative Committee:

Represents and promotes the interests of the passenger vessel industry before the U.S. Congress. Advocates for legislation and policies that benefit the business health and the operations of the passenger vessel industry. Membership on this committee does not require experience with Congress or the legislative process. The Committee meets as needed and once during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends. PVA Marketing & Membership Committee:

This committee is made up of individuals interested in promoting membership in PVA and identifying industry trends and needs. The committee helps shape PVA's membership marketing and message. PVA's region chairs are also members of the committee. The Committee meets once during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends. PVA Emerging Leaders Committee:

The PVA Emerging Leaders Committee is made up of individuals who are beginning their careers in the passenger vessel industry or who are climbing the management ladder. Committee members support each other and network about operational issues and questions. The committee also identifies and hosts presentations at PVA Region Meetings and during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends. The Committee meets via virtual meeting as needed and once during the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends.
